AIM hosted educators from The Pro Ed House School in Cape Town, South Africa to share our best practices. Dr. Anita Worrall, the school's founder, was very impressed with our students and their engagement in class. Her favorite visit was in the Gods and Goddesses Club. She had forgotten about canopic jars from ancient Egypt but the third grade students were eager to share what they knew!
In the same week, AIM hosted 40 teachers for a two day RAVE-O training. Stephanie Gottwald from Tufts University was the workshop presenter. Teachers attending the training came from as far away as Wisconsin. It is a great honor to be hosting this training. What a difference these 40 teachers can make as they bring back to their schools an understanding of vocabulary, fluency and comprehension to improve reading.
And closer to home, imagine the impact that 40 teachers in the Medford School District will have with the training they received from Nancy Blair on the new Wilson program, Just Words. Teacher training is an important component of our mission and it is extremely rewarding to be able to share these best practices with other educators. The feedback from the teachers on the training with Nancy highlighted both her knowledge and passion in the field of reading. AIM teacher training benefits approximately 1000 children each year!!
