THE WONDERS OF JAPAN
. . . explore Japan's rich history, traditions
and customs.
The Japanese called their country Nihon, "the land of the rising sun" because it is so far east. We invite you to come and join us as we explore the magical, mystical wonders of this great island country, Japan. Hands-on experiences such as attending a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, performing a Japanese folk tale, hearing and playing authentic Japanese music, cooking and tasting delicacies such as sushi and tempura, learning the language, understanding Ikebana - the art of Japanese flower arranging, origami, Japanese calligraphy, sumi ink painting, bonsai, woodcutting, Gyotaku - the art of fish printing, martial arts and so much more. Interactive Metronome
$1,500 for 15 sessions
Interactive Metronome is a computer-based rehabilitation
program that targets auditory and
visual processing for improved motor planning
and sequencing. The student matches his/her
movements to a computer generated beat and
receives feedback regarding performance.
Students who participate in the program have
shown improvements in motor coordination,
language processing and academic performance.
Cogmed Working Memory Training (25 sessions)
$1800 at AIM with training aide
$1600 at home with own aide
Cogmed Working Memory Training is a proven software-based program designed for sustainably improved attention and working memory capacity. Working memory is the ability to keep information in mind for a short time, focus on a task and remember what to do next. Clinically proven results demonstrate that after training, users increase their ability to concentrate, control impulsive behavior, and better utilize complex reasoning skills.
One-on-One Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy sessions and evaluations are available. Comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations are available through the Psychology Department.
