After School Care Program

After School Care for Grades 1-5

AIM's After School Care Program, for students in Grades 1-5, offers a balance of activities designed to enhance their social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
They include:

  • Outdoor and indoor play
  • Arts-based projects
  • Technology centers with highly interactive software that supports learning
  • Library corner
  • Mixed-age groupings
  • Supervised homework time as needed

After School Care is offered each day school is in session. Students enrolled in the program also have access to full-day care on days when school is dismissed at noon such as parent conference days and teacher in-service days. Service on half-days is also provided to those who are not enrolled in the After School Care Program for a charge of $50.00.

AIM also offers optional after school activities for Lower School students. These activities are typically offered once a week. Examples include:

  • Chess Club
  • Science Explorers
  • Matt Paul Basketball
  • Art activities
  • Girls on the Run

If a student is enrolled in any of the above activities and needs care after these programs are completed (typically by 4:15pm), there will be no discount on the After School Care Program that day but the child will have the benefit of having a seamless transition between the two programs.

Schedules and Rates

  • Times: Dismissal to 5:50pm Students not picked up by 5:50pm will be charged a late fee at the rate of $10 for every 5 minutes thereafter
  • Parents may sign up for 1-5 days per week and have three time structures from which to select

  • Payment options are either a one-time payment due with registration or a two-time payment with half due at registration and the balance due by December 1.
  • The After School Care Program is available only to families that have committed to contracted hours. We are unable to accomodate children on a "drop-in" or emergency basis.
  • Once enrolled, families may extend hours for an additional fee, but are not reimbursed for unused contracted days/hours.
  • Contracts are due September 1.
