The Arts
|
The arts (drawing, painting, three-dimensional design, wood working, music, dance, and theater) are an integral part of the curriculum. Through the arts children with learning disabilities can boost their self-confidence while engaging in cognitive processes that support academic learning. For example, a paintbrush, can teach a child to use the pincer grip, to move left to right on a page and to reinforce figure ground and spatial relationships while being a tool for self-expression and a means to create a work of art. |
